Events Centre To Schedule Repayment Of $50,000 Of Interest Free $100,000 "Loan"
Council lauded the success of the Food and Beverage Services at the Moose Jaw Events Centre and heard their $150,000 “loan” guarantee to get the service up and running had begun to reap rewards.
Council also heard as part of their 2023 budget submission the Events Centre would be providing a schedule to re-pay about $50,000 of the “loan”.

The Moose Jaw Cycle Association may bring in the largest number of toys to the Salvation Army for Christmas but all efforts in the community are appreciated.
During the first annual Little Chicago Show & Shine - which was held on the same day as the Toy Run - in September some car buffs took it upon themselves to collect toys for the Salvation Army. It is an effort much appreciated by the local Salvation Army.
For the Salvation Army the more people who help out the more people who can be helped at Christmas and throughout the year.

Salvation Army Kicks Off 2022 Christmas Kettle Campaign
The Moose Jaw Salvation Army kicked off their 2022 Christmas Kettle Campaign this morning.
This year’s goal is the same $65,000 as last years with the Salvation Army stating the economy makes this year’s campaign an important one as people are struggling against rising costs to live.
According to Lt Lester Ward of the local Salvation Army without the campaign and the generosity of the people of Moose Jaw hundreds of people - many of them children - would have nothing to eat or gifts without the campaign.
This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Salvation Army and funds go beyond Christmas to continue to help those in need.

The full list of the salaries paid to all Moose Jaw Police Service employees on Monday as part of the release of the 2021 Public Accounts for the City of Moose Jaw.
We have sorted the previously alphabetically listed remunerations to a highest to lowest paid format to make it easier to review the list.
Due to a major computer problem the public accounts for 2021 are late by months and coincidentally this year come out just as the MJPS is seeking an increase in their 2023 budget.
