“It was suppose to be held during the fair but had to be rescheduled because of safety concerns for the horses and riders,” George Fowler Moose Jaw Exhibition's general manager said.

Overly wet ground may can be problems for horses and riders potentially causing them to lose footing which may lead to injuries, Fowler stated.

Because the Hometown Exhibition Fair's horse show “allows riders to gain points necessary to qualify for provincial we thought it was important to reschedule the event.”

The free event is set to draw over 50 riders from all over the province.

Today the show will feature English riding and on Sunday it will feature Western riding. The event kicks off at 9 am both days. (See schedule below)

The event will take place outside in the west ring weather permitting. If it rains on either of the days the event will be moved indoors to the Golden Mile Arena.

The provincial championships will take place at the end of the month in Moose Jaw. This year's provincials will be the fourth year in a row it will be hosted in Moose Jaw.
