Power Out In Areas Of The City

If you woke up this morning wondering why your lights are not working you are not alone.

At 4:29 am SaskPower dispatched crews to determine the cause of a power outage.

At 5:21 am SaskPower sent out a second alert that they had discovered the cause of the power outage which is an accident that broke a power pole. SaskPower did not state any details about the accident including if anyone was hurt and where the accident was.

“Crews are working hard to repair damage caused by a broken pole due to an accident but are unable to provide a restoration time for power in the North and East parts of Moose Jaw,” SaskPowers Twitter account posted.

The full extent of the outage is unknown but SaskPower lists areas such as the Grayson Industrial Park, Fairview, Sunningdale, Paice Industrial Park, Mooscana, Morningside, Ross Park, Silver Heights, Windsor Park, Earnsciff in Moose Jaw without power as well as rural outages in the Brownlee - Tuxford areas due to the accident.
