Toilers Senior Girls Eliminated At Regionals
It was a tough couple of days for the Peacock Toilers senior girls volleyball team as they have been eliminated from the hunt for the provincial 4A crown.
Playing in regionals at FW Johnson Collegiate the Toilers bowed out after losing two matches.
The Toilers were defeated 2 - 1 on Friday evening by the reigning 4A provincial champions, the Lumsden Angels.
The set scores were 25 - 19, 10 - 25 and 15 - 12.
On Saturday afternoon the Toilers were officially eliminated from the hunt for a provincial Crown by their local rivals the Central Cyclones.
The hottest rivalry - both on and off the court, from the sidelines and the benches - in Moose Jaw volleyball this season was played out once again. This time at regionals in Regina.
The Cyclones narrowly defeated the Toilers 2 - 1.
The set scores were 25 - 20, 20 - 25 and 15 - 13.
At the time of publication there were still two Moose Jaw teams alive in the regionals.
The Vanier Sprits were 2 - 0 in regionals pool play and already defeated the Lumsden Angels in playoff bracket play.
The winner of the Central Cyclones versus Regina Luther are set to take on the Spirits for the regional championship.
The Cyclones were 1 - 1 in pool play to get it into the playoffs bracket.
