Inquest Told Prisoner Shot Himself In The Head

It took just eight minutes to select the four women and two men jury for the inquest into the death of Jeremy Joseph Sabourin.

In his remarks just minutes later to the jury coroner Blaine Beaven gave a brief description of the facts including that Sabourin had shot himself in the head.

THE INQUEST IS BEING HELD AT THE COURT OF KINGS BENCH FROM MONDAY APRIL 15TH TO THURSDAY APRIL 19TH. THE INITIAL DAY OF THE INQUEST IS 10AM WITH THE CORONER SETTING THE OTHER START TIMES OF THE INQUEST.

The inquest into the October 7, 2022 sudden death of 40 year old Jeremy Joseph Sabourin from Assiniboia was called because he was in police custody.

According to a news release at the of the sudden death officers had been speaking with the 40 year old man just moments before his body was discovered.

Immediate attempts were made by officers to resuscitate the man who were quickly joined by EMS.

Those resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
