Councillor Gives Notice To Extend Hours Residents Can Access City Hall

It was a temporary cash saving measure instituted during the COVID 19 pandemic that was supposed to go away. But that never happened.
The city manager of the day as well members of Administration successfully fought to keep it arguing the time was used to compete clerical work.
The hours City Hall was open to the public during the pandemic and today are 10 am - 4 pm.
Previously before the pandemic was 8am - 5 pm.
“I’m giving notice that City Hall have in person business hours from 8:15 am to 5 pm…these business hours will commence on July 2nd,” Councillor Carla Delaurier said.
The money to cover the cost of the Commissionaire - $17,000 - will come from vacancies, she said.
