U 18 AAA Canucks Add Come From Behind Victory

The U18 AAA Canucks kept pace in the race for regular season first place by defeating the Regina White Sox 9 - 6 in Regina on Wednesday evening.

Led by a three hit night by Owen Varjassy the Canucks erased a 5 - 1 White Sox lead in the third inning to power in the win.

The White Sox took an early 2 - 1 first inning lead and grew into what seemed, at the time, a game winning run.

In the top of the sixth inning the Canucks took a 7 - 5 lead on five runs on four hits.

The big hit it the sixth inning for the Canucks was a single by Ryder Hicks that drove in two runs.

The Canucks racked up 13 hits on their way to victory.

The Canucks take on U18 AAA Sasktachewan Premier Baseball League (SPBL) leaders the Saskatoon Diamondbacks this Friday evening in a double header at Ross Wells Park with a 6 pm start.

Friday’s games are important for both teams as the outcome could well decide first place as the regular season starts to wrap up.

Friday’s predicted high is 24 degrees and admission is free. Best Friday evening deal in town. Spectators are welcome.
