Major Horse Show Next Three Days
The horse show season might seem for some wrapping up for another season but don’t tell that to the Saskatchewan Riding Club Association (SRCA).
The SRCA is set to take over the Golden Mile Arena this weekend just over 160 riders and horses pairing combinations take over the facility - 162 horses and 121 riders will be at the event.
The SRCA is a group of horse enthusiasts ranging from ages three to their eighties that get together and compete in gymkhana and Western performance events.
Corinna Cunningham, president of the SRCA, said the group is made up of eight clubs from across Saskatchewan.
“Each club has to host four events and you get points. The top two point earners in each division are eligible to come and ride at provincials,” Cunningham said.
“I want my riders to come and have fun and learn something,” she said.
The event is FREE for spectators and runs over the weekend.
Friday September 26th starts at noon.
On Friday evening - 6:30 pm - there is a game night that does not require a horse to enter.
The game night is free to all with prizes given out to o the winners.
“We’re offering games for anybody who wants to come and join us.”
Saturday September 27th gets underway at 9 am with the opening ceremonies.
Saturday evening will feature the gymkhana events.
Sunday morning starts at 9 am with the day endorsing with everyone riding poles and barrels.
