Senior Girls Invitational Starts Thursday

It’s going to a busy few days at the Peacock gymnasium as this year’s edition of the Moose Jaw Senior Girls Invitational Basketball Tournament is set to tip off January 15 - January 17.

The tournament will feature 16 teams from around the province including three local team - Central Cyclones, Peacock Toilers and the Vanier Spirits.

The field includes some of the best senior girls basketball teams in the province.

This year’s tournament is especially important to the three local teams as the strive towards competing in Hoopla - the provincial high school championships - which will be held in Moose Jaw this year.

The cost to attend the tournament is $5 per day for adults. Students and children are free.

There will be a Penny Parade and a concession on site at Peacock.

The Central Cyclones play their first game Thursday January 15th at 6:30 pm at the Central Collegiate gym against Wynyard.

The Peacock Toilers play their first game Thursday January 15th at 6:30 pm at the Peacock Collegiate gym against John Paul II from North Battleford.

The Vanier Spirits play their first game Thursday January 15th at 8:00 pm at the Peacock gym against Humboldt.
