15U AAA Canucks Suffer Doubleheader Losses
An injury taking out one of their best pitchers hurt the 15I AAA Canucks as their losing slide continued on Sunday afternoon.
The young Canucks saw themselves on the losing end of a doubleheader against the Saskatoon Expos.
The Canucks would fall 21 - 7 in game one and despite an improvement in game two they would fall 14 - 3.
The Canucks now have a 1 - 5 season record.
Game One
Canucks 7 - Expos 21
Despite a great effort at bat by the Canucks’ Jordan Scory the home team dropped game one.
Scory would go three for three at the plate and record a double and a pair of singles.
The Expos would do major damage in the top of the second inning scoring seven runs on eight hits.
Tucker Knopf would record two hits for Moose Jaw.
The Expos did well base running managing to record ten stolen bases.
Game Two
Canucks 3 - Expos 14
The Expos got on the board in the top of the first inning when a triple and a single scored two runs.
Canucks’ starting pitcher Jordan Scory was rocked hard giving up seven hits and 13 runs - six earned runs.
Playing two double headers back to back made it hard to find relief pitchers given the new May pitching rule and the Canucks playing a doubleheader on Saturday.
The new rule only allows a pitcher to pitch 80 pitches in a game. They can only pitch in one game per day. And they cannot pitch on consecutive days.
Taylor Usher and Tatem Miller each had two hits for the Canucks.
The Canucks next game is a doubleheader May 16th at 12 noon and 3 pm in Maidstone against the NorthWest Sun Devils.
