Carmichael Earns $440,000 In 2025

The answer to the question is did the City of Moose Jaw have to pay out their former City Manager Maryse Carmichael after she was terminated without cause and the answer appears to be yes.

In the 2025 public accounts report, to be tabled at this Tuesday’s regular council meeting, $440,977.56 was paid to Carmichael.

This is more than double the $208,722.51 Carmichael received according to the 2024 Public Accounts.

Although it’s not stated Carmichael did not receive any massive raise in 2025.

By law public employees’ salaries must be made public.

Carmichael was hired to great fanfare on May 2, 2023. She was let go and literally hustled out the back door without cause on December 2, 2025 when Council felt they wanted to go in a different direction.

Also although it has appearances of being over the 2025 Public Accounts do not state if there will be further remuneration to Carmichael in 2026.
