Fair Entertainment Set To Shine

With the opening of the Exhibition Grounds (250 Thatcher Drive East) for the 2025 Moose Jaw Hometown Fair being just days away employees of West Coast Amusements were busy setting up and cleaning Midway rides on Tuesday morning.

But the Fair is more that the glitter of the Midway.

There is entertainment- free - with your gate admission.

But there is more than just the Fair Grounds to walk around. This year the entertainment booked is new, bold and a wide variety of free acts to take in.

“We have lots of entertainment booked,” George Fowler general manager for Moose Jaw Exhibition Company said.

Fowler mentioned the variety of entertainment which ranged from a high dive act, horseback shooting, dog show, trick riding, a weight competition, a fire show and a traditional 4 H show and sale on Saturday.

There is new entertainment that deserves to be highlighted.

The Grip Strength Challenge runs from 3 pm to 7 pm on Saturday.

The fire show will be travelling in from Winnipeg. Fire batons and hoops is just part of their show.

There will be a mounted shooting competition at the Golden Mile Arena starting at 4 pm on Friday until it’s over.

On Saturday the completion starts at 11 am and goes until it’s over.

A showcase will be held from 6 pm until the competition is over.

There will be a windup at 11 am on Sunday.

At the intermission of the mounted shooting events there will be an exhibition put on by trick riders.

The Fair prides itself in being a family friendly event.

“We certainly cater to families. We look upon ourselves as family friendly,” Fowler said.

“By family friendly we think most of our entertainment is catered to families. We try to book our acts so parents and grandparents can come with grandchildren and children and have a great time.”

The Fair runs from 3 pm to 11 pm on Friday.

On Saturday noon until 11 pm (please note there is access to entertainment starting at 11 am)

On Saturday from noon to 8 pm.

Discounted admission/ride tickets are on sale until the close of business at the Exhibition Office, Pet Valu and Family Pizza on Thursday May 20th.

Presale tickets are $50 and includes gate admission and the Midway for one day.
