Laughter And Healing At Cultural Centre

By Billie Wong - MJ Independent Food Critic

It will be a full weekend at Moose Jaw Cultural Centre this weekend as they present both comedy and music this weekend.

On Friday evening - tonight - Moose Jam Comedy will be presenting its largest to date production when Just For Laughs comedy star Tim Nutt makes a second stop in the community.

Nutt - who won an award for being Canada's funniest comedian in 2016 - is set to make the Downtown roar with laughter and prevent the powers to be from rolling up the sidewalks at 6 pm on a Friday evening.

Also gracing the stage is He Fangzhou who is a New Canadian who is breaking into and a rapidly rising star on the Canadian comedy scene.

Tickets are $20 at the box office or on-line. At the door they cost $25 which is much cheaper than you would pay if you wanted to catch Mr Nutt's show at Montreal's Just for Laughs comedy festival.

The show is a presentation of Moose Jam Comedy the brain child of Moose Jaw's own Garrett DeLaurier who will be the opening act and telling Moose Jaw stories. You may want to check this out because you may want to know if Mr DeLauruer is talking about you….(of course we are joking this is about comedy but you never know)….

Show goes tonight 7 pm at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre doors open at 6:30 pm.

There will be a second great show this weekend as Reuben and the Dark head into Moose Jaw to play what the critics have described as some of the best healing and soulful music to be had.

Reuben and the have just released a new album and their music is set to rocket in popularity as it is part of the Breaking Bad Movie so you can guess how wide known Reuben and his band is going to become.

It is also going to be special as the group are playing in a more intimate environment just before their new album and soundtrack performance takes them to the much larger and less intimate arena concert circuit

This will be the band's only Saskatchewan stop in a long Canada and US tour so kudos to the Cultural Centre for landing the Friendly City some high quality entertainment as we progress in making the city Notorious.

The show kicks off at 7:30 pm this Saturday with doors open at 7 pm.
