Music Festival Underway

Submitted by the Moose Jaw Music Festival

The Moose Jaw Music Festival began today with Choral performances for local schools.

The Festival continues with Vocal, Musical Theatre, Spoken Word, Piano, Strings and Band from March 26th – 30th.

All classes have been scheduled and performers are now working to polish their performances for competition.

A Scholarship Competition will be held on Thursday, March 30th at Zion at 7:00 pm and the Final Awards Concert on Sunday, April 2nd at Zion at 2:00 pm.

These are all opportunities to hear from a range of talented musicians of all disciplines.

The generous support of our sponsors allows the provision of a number of scholarships and awards to the performers who most impress our adjudicators.

Performances will be held at various venues during the Festival, including Zion Church, Peacock Centennial Auditorium and the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery Performing Arts Theatre.

Admission to all performances is by silver collection.

To put on a successful Festival takes the work of a number of volunteers and we are still looking for help.

We need volunteers to help as door attendants at each of the venues and also as secretaries to assist the adjudicators.

People can sign up online at where they will see a more detailed schedule, description of volunteer duties, or they can contact us by email at moosejawmusicfestival@hotmail.com.

The Festival Committee encourages everyone to come out and take in some of this year’s Festival.

The Festival is an excellent opportunity for our young musicians to build their confidence and experience, and to share their talents.

We hope you will come and enjoy!
