Next week the largest equine event in the province will be taking place at the the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds (250 Thatcher Drive) when they host the 2019 Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association (SBRA) Provincial Championships.

The championships, which usually are held in Saskatoon, will have approximately 500 competitors and 650 horses and runs meaning a major economic impact for the city George Fowler general manager of the Moose Jaw Exhibition Association said.

“This is by far the largest equine event held within Saskatchewan and it will be held within our very own community this year, which in return should have a great economic spin off in Moose Jaw,” Fowler said in a statement.
