Parking Meters Can Now Be Plugged Through Your Smart Phone

If you are parking Downtown in a metered spot you no longer have to worry about carrying any spare change as effective today the new parking meter app is up and running.

In order to use your Smart Phone to pay your parking meter fees you need to download the HotSpot App from either the Apple Store or Google Play and then activate it - see the graphic below for instructions.

Meters now feature numbered stickers and users enter the number specific to their meter in the app.

At the present time some meters may not have sticker on them but all meters will have stickers on them by July 16th.

The new parking app was something requested by the previous Council as a means to make it more convenient to park Downtown as a person does not have to carry change with them - if they choose not to to pay for metered parking.

New parking meters were not required to integrate the app, and all existing parking payment options (coins, Park Smart cards, etc.) are still in effect. Pre-paid Park Smart cards can be purchased at City Hall.
