Richard Dowson - The Possible Benefits Of Sniffing Farts

By Richard Dowson

Remember when you were a kid and someone ripped a monumental fart and it was the worst thing you ever smelled? That you thought you would throw up? Well, that fart may have improved your health.

According to a recent UK study at the University of Exeter, hydrogen sulfide, the ‘rotten egg’ component that causes a fart to smell may, “… reduce the risk of cancer, strokes, heart attacks, arthritis, and dementia.”

According to Dr. Solomon H. Snyder, a neuroscientist at Johns Hopkins, “… inhaling (fart) … aroma might lower the risk of serious health issues”

We often overlook the fact that farting is natural; a result of the digestive processes.

Grandparents are frequent-farters. It’s all natural. Seniors fart more frequently than young people because their metabolism is slower.

If Nana rips one, enjoy the odor. It’s healthy! And remember, it is the smell, not the sound that is important. The sound is intended to get grandkids laughing.
