Moose Jaw Judo Club Busy With Numerous Events

Members of the Moose Jaw Judo Club have been busy at interprovincial and international competitions and trainings.

Avery Gibney of Moose Jaw and Kolbi Fenrick of Pense along with their club coach Destiny Gibney who is also the Chair of Coaches for Judo Saskatchewan have just returned from participating as members of Team Saskatchewan at the 2019 Pacific International Judo Tournament held in Richmond, BC on March 16 and 17.

Both girls won a bronze medal in individual competition and a bronze medal in the team competition. 

Avery Gibney and Sara Wiens of Moose Jaw along with coach Destiny Gibney also attended the Edmonton International Judo Tournament on March 9 and 10 with Sara winning a bronze medal.

Also competing at the Edmonton International was Christian Mycroft, 4th,  senior men. Logan Basley, under 10, gold medal, Felix Leonard, under 10 gold medal and Seann Terry. under 12, gold medal.

Avery and Destiny staying to attend a 2 day training led by a former world championship medalist from South Korea and attended by athletes from across Canada as well as a team from Japan.
