Milestone Pulls Off A Friday Evening Victory

Despite missing five players from their regular roster the Milestone U18A Female Flyers pulled off a 4 - 2 victory Friday evening against the Wood River SWT Ice Cats in Saskatchewan Female Hockey League action.

Despite being short five (5) players from their regular season roster the Flyers were able to net the victory on the road in Lafleche.

It was a big night for a former Moose Jaw Mavericks product Taryn Sandbeck as the low scoring stay at home defenceman managed to score two goals in the victory. Sandbeck netted half of her points for the season so far in the winning effort.

Taryn Sandbeck opened the scoring at the 8:02 mark of the First Period with an assist going to Jordan Terry.

The Ice Cats managed to tie the game on the powerplay at 6:05 when Brinn Rieder scored assisted by Kaydence Ray Hailey Spence.

Milestone would take the lead for good in the Second Period on the powerplay when Sandbeck scored at 19:02 mark assisted by Kalla Nicholas.

The Flyers increased their lead to two goals at the 14:33 mark when Nikita Halyk scored an unassisted marker.

The fourth goal by the Flyers was at the 3:33 mark when McKenna Perras scored assisted by Callie Callaghan and Halyk.

The Third Period saw the Ice Cats’ Desiree Bouffard score at the 10:52 mark assists going to Spence and Ray.

The next game for the Flyers is against the Saskatoon Destroyers Sunday afternoon at 2 pm in Milestone.
