18U AAA Canucks End Round Robin Round 2 - 2 Wait To See If They Make Playoffs

In what was a must win game the U18 AAA Canucks have defeated the regular season champions the Saskatoon Diamondbacks 10 - 4 at Provincials.

A Tyson Ross single led to the Canucks taking the lead and scoring a run.

The Diamondbacks took the lead 2 - 1 in the bottom of the third inning scoring two runs off a double and a single.

The top of the fourth inning saw the Canucks score three runs. The runs came off an RBI fielder’s choice and Garritt Gulutzan tripling scoring two runs.

Moose Jaw ended the Diamondbacks’ chances of winning by scoring five runs in five hits in the top of the seventh inning.

Canucks starting pitcher Ryder Hicks allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings of work.

Owen Csada came in as relief for the Canucks.

The Canucks tallied 10 hits in the game led by Owen Varjassy going 3 for 4 at the plate.

Moose Jaw ended the round robin portion of the tournament with a 2 - 2 record. The team can make the playoff round but only with help from other teams.
