Canucks Roar Back With A Paper Thin Victory

After losing their first game on Saturday 9 - 8 to the Saskatoon Astros the Moose Jaw 15U AAA Canucks managed a victory in Saturday’s second game.

The Canucks defeated the Regina Athletics 5 - 4 to keep their playoff hopes alive at the provincial championship.

The Canucks struck in the first inning when Cohen Symak grounded out scoring a run.

A walk at the top of the fourth inning saw the A’s tie up the game 1 - 1.

The lead was short lived as the Canucks scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 3 - 1 lead.

A home run in the top of the seventh inning saw the A’s take a 4 - 3 lead.

With a second close win looming the Canucks took the lead 5 - 4 in the bottom half of the seventh inning.

Daxton Chesney hit a home run scoring one run.

The Canucks picked up their second run of the seventh inning when Nigel Legaré hit a single down the right field line giving Legaré an RBI.

The A’s failed to score in the eighth inning resulting in a Canucks victory.

The Canucks are into the semi-finals playing at 10 am on Sunday.
