“I thought the kids played excellent tonight,” Lions head coach Kellyn Bollinger said in the post game interview.

“ I thought there was a great effort from both sides of the ball but I feel our effort out there was really effective in the result,” Bollinger said.

Asked about the “chippy” nature of the first quarter Bollinger said the Ravens were a “very physical team.”

“I love the way they play football. They played their butts off on defence. They made it a battle for us They didn’t make anything easy,” he said.

Weyburn’s showing up with a large contingent of players wasn’t lost on Bollinger.

“ I’ve been in that situation when I’ve had the coach teams like that it’s difficult to rotate everybody through. I know what it’s like. But it’s also a blessing when you have guys going down like we had tonight you don’t have to get into putting guys into too many positions.”

Being able to rotate four different quarterbacks through that position showed that they have skills in getting everybody through into the game.

Ask what the Lions biggest challenge was with the evening Ballinger said it was getting past the Ravens initial line of defenders.

“When we were able to get through them, things went well. If we didn’t, they were getting us in the back field lots,” Bollinger said.

there was a lesson to be learned by the team after the game.

“I think they learnt the value of battling hard from start to finish. They were going hard on every play from the snap to the whistle. I think that was just reinforced when you see a score like this,” he said, adding “yes they can learn the positive attributes.”
