U18 A Mavericks Suffer A Loss

The up and down nature of the Saskatchewan Fenale Hockey Leagues U18 A shone through on Sunday afternoon.

But unfortunately for the first place Moose Jaw Carpet One Mavericks the team was on the walloped end of the stick losing 7 - 2 to the visiting Weyburn TS&M Gold Wings. The game was played at Caronport’s Barkman Arena due to a large male hockey tournament in Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw gave up four goals to Weyburn in the first period.

The second period saw the Mavericks’ Jenika Stevenson score at 15:25 assisted by Chance Street. The score at the time was 4 - 1 for Weyburn.

The third period saw the Mavericks score their second goal at 7:34 by Tylar Howe. The assist went to Julia Wilson.

The Mavericks now fall to second place in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League’s South Division standings after the Balcarres Barracudas played to a 2 - 2 tie against the Milestone Flyers on Saturday.

The Mavericks next game is tomorrow January 19th in Regina versus the Regina Rebels Red at 8:15 pm.
