Moose Jaw Soccer Player Headed To National Championships

Fourteen-year-old Miya Kreiser, a student at Vanier Collegiate in Moose Jaw, has earned the opportunity to compete on the national stage after helping her team capture the provincial championship.

Miya plays with the FCR (Futbol Club Regina) U15 Blue Stars, who recently defeated Saskatoon Alliance Black 1-0 in the Prairie Soccer League Provincial Championship at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. The victory secured the team’s place at the Canadian National Championships, which will be held in Surrey, British Columbia, from October 6-12.

The tournament will bring together the top U15 girls’ soccer teams from across Canada as they compete for a national title.

While several athletes from Moose Jaw compete in the Prairie Soccer League, Miya is the only Moose Jaw player on the FCR U15 Blue Stars roster who will be representing both her club and the city of Moose Jaw at the national championships this fall.

Qualifying for a national championship is a significant accomplishment and reflects Miya’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to the sport. Her success also highlights the growing talent emerging from Moose Jaw’s soccer community.
