Hometown Fair Announces Two Acts

With the Moose Jaw Hometown Fair just under a month away on June 21 - June 23 the exciting line-up of events planned for this year’s edition of the local family friendly fair is being announced.

The parade will be held the evening of June 20.

On Friday details were released about two of the acts coming to the fair.

K9 Stars Dog Show

For a third year running the highly popular K9 Stars show of performing dogs will be at the Hometown Fair with three acts daily.

“It has been really good and we have had a super response to them,” George Fowler general manager to ld MJ Independent.

Asked if repeating the act three years in the running wasn’t risky Fowler said “we will let the people decide. The dogs though are highly popular with everyone.

He spoke about advice he had received from the manager of a much bigger fair who let his dog show go only to regret it.

“One of the big fairs they went 12 years in a row with a dog show and then decided not to book a dog show and now they have lots of complaints for not getting them…if you ever get a dog show never give them up he told me.”

The unique thing about the K9 Stars is all of their dogs doing the tricks are rescue dogs and not purebreds but dogs saved from animal shelters and elsewhere and given a chance at life.

“I think it is good because these people really do care about the animals,” Fowler said, adding as part of their show the K9 Stars speak about pet adoption and giving animals a chance.

Following their appearance in Moose Jaw the K9 Stars are scheduled to perform at the Calgary Stampede.
