Police Investigate After Stabbing Downtown

Downtown Moose Jaw took yet another notorious turn as there was a stabbing late this afternoon in the downtown core. It is yet another act of violence in the downtown which has been decried by at least one business group.

According to a Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) news release at 4 p.m. May 23rd the MJPS responded to an assault on the 700 block of Main Street North.

A short distance away from the scene an individual was found to have a non-lethal stab wound.

The victim was taken to hospital where the wound was treated and the victim released with non-life threatening injuries.

If the MJPS have a suspect they do not list if the victim or the alleged stabber were known to each other and if they did know each other what was the nature of that relationship.

The investigation is ongoing with the MJPS continuing to investigate.
