18U AAA Take First Win At Provincials

The 18U AAA Canucks are now 1 - 1 in Provincials after a 3 - 2 walk off victory versus the 18U AAA Kal Tire Swift Current 57’s this morning.

The win came off a single by Gerritt Gulutzan which scored a run in the bottom of the tied seventh inning.

Pitching for both sides was strong in what was a defensive game with the Canucks striking out four and the 57’s seven.

Kale Pratt’s triple and a single by Hunter Scott each score a run giving the Canucks a 2 - 0 lead after the first inning.

The 57’s would trail until the top of the fifth inning when they scored two runs. An error by Moose Jaw helped Swift Current tie the game.

Moose Jaw workhorse pitcher Cameron Beisal earned the win pitching over seven innings. Beisal gave up three hits (0 earned) and two runs.

Jake Johnson took the loss for the 57’s giving up three runs on eight hits. He also struck out seven in six innings.

Kale Pratte went 3 - 3 at the plate to lead the Canucks in batting.

The Canucks next game is scheduled for 3 pm this afternoon versus the Giants.
