Cyclones Junior Boys Don’t Play Second Fiddle To Devils
The Lumsden Devils Junior Boys basketball team may have drove into Moose Jaw in a bind looking for a win but the Central Cyclones outplayed the visitors for a 96 - 26 victory.
The game was close in the early going with the Devils playing a tune with two three pointers to remain reasonably close for awhile.
But once the Cyclones began to belt out their tune they quickly took a commanding lead.
“We challengedthe guys before the game just to be better and put more effort into it. Each day is a chance to get better everyday. Which challenged 10 guys to do that and I would say we had one through 10 they played better,” Cyclones head coach Riley Seaborn said.
Seaborn said Mo day evening’s game was the best the Cyclones had played.
“We had intensity on offense. We had an intensity on defense. We were moving the ball and all the right ways.”
“The Lumsden team played really good. The last time we came out and played intense and it worked out really well,” Seaborn said.
Ask about his initial trepidations for coaching this year - his first ever coaching position - Seaborn said they had worn off.
“I’m enjoying it. I love the guys and it’s gotten easier. But it’s still a challenge. I don’t know they’re a good team and everyone is good so the coaching aspect makes it tough.”
“i’m happy. I’m really happy I decided to coach. I love coaching them and coming to work working to get better each day.”
Asked about what the parents thought about his coaching he said “i think they’re enjoying it…I’ve had no negative complaints.”
Prior to the game a few parents told MJ Independent how the team and the parents really loved Seaborn’s coaching.
At the present time the Cyclones are on a three game winning streak.
“Each week. Each game. Each Practice. Each day we’ve gotten better.”
