Writer Roasts Trump On A Cold Winter Day (Copy)

By Richard Dowson Opinion/Commentary

The best way to deal with President Trump’s outrageous, ignorant comments, is to; take a breath and ignore them. In this changing world, they are insignificant.

Think about that old adage of needing at least two people for a fight. Ignorant Trump comments are intended to initiate a ‘fight’.  Well, fight with yourself Donald!

His latest; about NATO military personnel in Afghanistan, including Canadians; hiding behind the front lines. That’s ignorant. Why engage? The man is ignorant. Leave it at that.

Dismiss Trump. He talks and doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Canadians know what we did in Afghanistan. Canadians know we fought there for 13 years. Canadians know 158 personnel were killed in Afghanistan.

It is what Canadians know that is important. Let Trump bathe in his ignorance.

Canadians who have travelled in the United States know, most Americans are wonderful people. Trump is an outlier. There’s one in every crowd. Ignore him.

Trump wants to destroy the Canadian economy. He respects no one.

Time for Canadians to make new friends. Most world leaders aren’t ignorant. Chinese leaders don’t make ignorant comments about Canada.

People in Europe seems to like Canadians. Folks in India and Southeast Asia are nice. Let’s get to know them better.

Appreciate the many wonderful Americans you met through your travels. Wish them luck, and leave it at that. Trump is their problem – not ours.
