U13 Mustangs Win Their First Game Of League Championships
Brody Soper got a hat trick to lead the U13 Mustangs to an 8 - 2 victory over Regina Chaos Blue in their first game of the South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League’s championships in Weyburn on Friday.
Moose Jaw’s speedster Zachariah Thompson opened the scoring for the Mustangs at 14:55 of the first period.
After Weyburn tied the game Mustangs’ Brody Soper scored a short handed goal at 9:18 to give Moose Jaw a 2 - 1 lead as the period ended.
The Mustangs would score four goals in a row in the second period until Chaos Blue scored.
Soper would score his hat trick goal with eight seconds left in the game.
The third period saw a single goal scored by the Mustangs’ Indie Bellefuille with 18 seconds left in the game.
The Mustangs next game is Saturday June 20th at 2:25 pm versus the Swift Current Rampage at the Whitecap Resources Centre in Weyburn.
