Shriner Tsunami Hits Moose Jaw
With hundreds of Shriners taking over local hotels this week there are plenty of opportunities to meet the guys in red fezzes about town.
The Shriners are in town as part of their Midwest Shrine Association’s summer conference.
Shriners from 48 units across Canada and the United States have descended upon Moose Jaw.
The Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds (250 Thatcher Drive East) will be the place for the public to come out and meet the Shriners..
There are three events planned between the Shriners and the general public.
There is a trade show in the the Golden Nugget Building where a variety of vendors will offer their wares for sale. The trade show takes place Thursday August 21st and Friday August 22nd from 10 am to 4 pm daily,
There will be a meet and greet for the the general public on Thursday August 21st from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds. The event will feature displays, clowns and fun for the kids.
The event will be topped off with a massive Shriner parade on Saturday from 11 am until noon running south down Main Street North fro Saskatchewan Street to Manitoba Street. The street will be closed from 10:30 am to allow the parade to proceed safely down the route. The Shriners apologize in ada=vance for any inconvenience created by the temporary road closure,

The parade will include clowns, music, horse (there is already a Shrine horse brigade in town of the event) with of course the Shriners trademark miniature cars.
The parade is said to be the largest Shriner parade in the midwest.
