MJPS Lays Fraud Related Charges
Submitted by the Moose Jaw Police Service
The Moose Jaw Police Service has arrested and charged a 63-year-old male with fraud-related charges following a lengthy investigation.
In 2024, the MJPS’s Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) began an investigation into the fraudulent activity of a Moose Jaw resident.
As part of the investigation, CIS conducted a search warrant on a residence on August 29, 2025.
Through the investigation and subsequent search warrant, police discovered evidence suggesting a large-scale online scam had occurred, with victims from across Canada.
During the scam, victims were encouraged to send money via e-transfer or wire transfer as part of an online loan application through fraudulent websites.
As a result of the investigation, MJPS has arrested and charged Timothy Hollinger, 63, with one count each of Fraud Over $5000, Fraud Under $5000, Money Laundering.
Hollinger made his first appearance in the Moose Jaw Provincial Court on September 2, 2025, and was remanded into police custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 5, 2025.
This file is ongoing, and the MJPS is working to identify additional victims with the assistance of law enforcement partners.
