Trucking Company Charged Under Immigration Services Act

A trucking company with a strong Moose Jaw presence is facing charges under Saskatchewan’s Immigration Services Act (ISA).

JD Trucking Ltd. and Jorowar Singh have been charged with making or signing any false statements, providing false statements or providing any false, misleading, or inaccurate information – violating section 7-6(1) of the ISA.

JD Trucking Ltd has a depot located on the North Service Road in Moose Jaw.

There has already been a court appearance in Regina on September 2 with the matter ajourned until September 28.

This is the second Newcomer business in Moose Jaw with immigration related charges although they are under different Acts.

The first business involved in immigration related charges was Djyan Jeny Enterprises. Which operated as Guac Mexi Grill, located at 4 Hochelaga Street West plead guilty to the single charge on Tuesday. After a guilty plea the company was fined $5,000 plus $12,000 in restitution to a former employee. Unconfirmed reports have Djyan Jeny Enterprises no longer affiliated with GUAC. The restaurant is presently closed.
