Two Arrested For Drug Offences Following Traffic Stop

The Moose Jaw Police Service has arrested and charged Ashton Findlay, 38, and Jared Caplette, 26, for drug-related offences following a traffic stop.

On November 5, 2025, members of the MJPS’ Community Policing Division conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Athabasca Street East regarding an impaired driving investigation.

Findlay was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.

A search of the vehicle and passengers yielded 61.2 grams (approximately $3,050 street value) of Fentanyl, 2.4 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately $1800 in Canadian Currency, a bladed weapon, and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Findlay was charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl x1

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine x1

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x1

As a result, Caplette was charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl x1

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine x1

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x1

Both Findlay and Caplette made their first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on November 6, 2025.
