Barrel Racers Take Over The Ex
Hundreds of barrel racers have rode into town as the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association provincial championships are underway.
Held from Tuesday August 12th - Thursday August 14th the competition will feature child (pee wee) classes right up to elite adult riders.
On Tuesday there were 450 runs in the event.
For Wednesday the action gets underway at 8 am and will end once all of the runs are completed.
On Thursday there is the same 8 am start time when the best of the best go head to head to determine the provincial championships.
An onsite concession is available.
Admission to the event is FREE and organizers welcome and encourage spectators to attend the event.
Barrel racing is a major event at rodeos like the Calgary Stampede but in Moose Jaw spectators are closer to the action and get a better view.
The event is held indoors at the Golden Mile Arena on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds.
The Moose Jaw Co-op is a major sponsor of the event.
