Spartans Shutout Lions In Defensive Battle

It was a big night for the Moose Jaw Spartans as they shutout their rivals the Moose Jaw Lions 13 - 0 in Kinsmen Moose Jaw Minor Football League U12 action on Saturday evening.

The Spartans led 6 - 0 at halftime.

Acting Spartans head coach Zach Hagerman described the game as a tight defensive battle.

“It was a really good defensive battle. Both defences came to play with really good players,” Hagerman said.

“It was a really an ugly start for us on offence but the way the kids responded was fantastic. The big thing at this age is learning adapting and responding and he really did a good job there.”

Asked about what they’re looking for in the team this year Hagerman said the Spartans had a good group of players and what they were looking for in the way of development should come as part of the year.

“The league is growing so much with the amazing athletes we have all over the league,” Hagerman said.

“It’s going to be r a dogfight the rest of the year and I think that’s going to be an exciting thing.”
