HTCSD Elementary Badminton Championship Held On The Weekend

Holy Trinity Catholic School Division held their elementary badminton championships this past Saturday at Vanier Collegiate.

All three double competitions took place in the morning event followed by singles in the afternoon.

Competition was at its best as athletes competed in two pools of four with the top three in each pool advancing to the cross-over playoff round.

Results from the morning doubles action yielded the following top three in each category.

Mixed Doubles:

1^st – Amelia/Mason (St. Michael);

2^nd – Grace/Kaelum (St. Michael);

3^rd – Shaivi/Aaron (St. Agnes)

Boys Doubles:

1^st – Andrew/Luka (St. Michael);

2^nd – Ethan/Daxton (St. Agnes);

3^rd – Mason/Josh (St. Margaret)

Girls Doubles:

1^st – Christine/Chloe (St. Agnes);

2^nd – Praise/Kayla (St. Agnes);

3^rd – Lucy/Elina (St. Agnes)

Singles in the afternoon had some very intense matches and close scores throughout the round robin and the playoffs. The results for each division are as follows.

Girls Singles:

1^st – Amelia (St. Michael);

2^nd – Grace (St. Michael);

3^rd – Martina (St. Agnes)

Boys Singles:

1^st – Charlie (St. Margaret);

2^nd – Martin (St. Agnes);

3^rd – Aaron (St. Agnes)

Athletes will now turn their attention to the upcoming HTCSD Track and Field meet which is scheduled for June 4^th at Gutheridge Field with grades 4-6 competing in the morning standards meet and the grades 7-8 in the afternoon at the competitive meet.

Should weather be a factor on the 4^th the meet try to go on June 5^th.
