15U AA Canucks Sweep Doubleheader

It was a sweep in a doubleheader for the 15U AA Canucks as they faced the visiting Quad Town Steelers.

Moose Jaw took Game One 13 - 10 and Game Two 14 - 1.

Game One

Canucks 13 - Steelers 10

Liam Oakes led with ten strikeouts as the 15U AA Canucks defeated the Steelers 13 - 10. Oakes gave up five hits and surrendered a run while not giving up any walks.

Moose Jaw had nine hits and Quad City had 12 hits.

A triple by Alex Schmegelsky batted in a run for Moose Jaw in the first inning. A double by Daxon Mackow also brought in a run for the Canucks.

The Canucks scored five hits on four hits in the fourth inning.

Quad City fought back in the sixth inning when then scored seven runs on five hits. One run was scored on a rare steal of home plate.

Game Two

Canucks 14 - Steelers 1

Moose Jaw had an easier time on the backside of the doubleheader winning 14 - 1.

A big fourth inning scoring eight runs propelled the Canucks into a commanding lead.

Keaton Bauck tripled in the inning batting in two runs.

Liam Oakes doubled and Dacon Mackow singled scoring runs in the first inning.

The Canucks went up 4 - 0 in the second inning on a pass ball.

Alex Schmegelsky pitched four innings for the Canucks allowing three hits and one run over four innings. Schmegelsky struck out seven and allowed three walks.

Titan Sauter drew two walks for the Canucks.

The Canucks were able to turn a double play and did not commit any errors.

The next game for the 15U Canucks is Tuesday May 19th at 6 pm in Assiniboia.
