Mafia Takes Lessons From Fighting Sioux
Tough night for the Moose Jaw Mafia as they were worked over by the visiting Standing Buffalo Fighting Sioux on Friday evening.
The crime gang fell brutally 20 - 4 to the tribe should be enough said about the game but it isn’t.
There is a hidden story or double meaning to Friday’s matchup.
“No actually this was a fantastic fame for us. This was the biggest show of professional talent Moose Jaw has had in the Kinsmen Sportsplex. It was phenomenal,” Mustangs player-coach Laine Denoncourt said.
The Fighting Sioux’s roster included three National Lacrosse League (NLL) players as well as two other members with connections to professional lacrosse and the Canadian national team.
“It was unreal to share the floor with those guys.”
“They had five players in the pro ranks and we had five players who this is their first ever year of lacrosse.”
Play-wise he said he was happy with how the Mafia played.
“I’m really proud about how hard the boys plays we stayed out of the box for the most part.”
The Mafia’s next game is Saturday June 13th at 7 pm at the Kinsmen Sportsplex.
