HTCSD Holds Track And Field Event

Holy Trinity Catholic School Division held their Elementary Track and Field Event on Thursday June 4th at Gutheridge Field.
The weather was overcast (a few sunny breaks) and somewhat cool, but athletes still put forth a great effort in the different competitions.
The grade 4-6 standards event was held in the morning beginning at 9:00 am with the last events scheduled for 11:15 am.
There was a strong turnout of students in the morning, and all four schools were well represented.
An open relay at the end of the morning provided some good excitement and was a great way to wrap things up.
In the afternoon students in grade 7&8 competed against one another based on age and gender categories (12, 13, 14 yrs. old) in points-based events.
Points were awarded for the top six places which were used to tabulate the overall school ranking, boy’s championship, girl’s championship as well as the individual points awards.
Once all the points were tabulated St. Michael School had the overall lead with 638 followed by OLOH with 343, St. Agnes 256, St. Margaret 219.
To determine our banner winners the overall points per gender were used and as a result St. Michael won both the division banners.
The top point totals in each gender/age category were awarded medals of achievement (gold, silver, bronze) based on their point results.
