Cyclones Defeat Griffins - Photo Essay

A large crowd came out on Friday evening to cheer on the Central Cyclones senior girls basketball team play their first game in regionals.

The fourth seeded Cyclones met the thirteenth seeded Balgonie Griffins both vying to earn a spot in Hoopla the provincial high school basketball championships. Hoopla will take place next week with Moose Jaw hosting the event.

At the end of 40 minutes the Cyclones defeated the Griffins by a score of 59 - 19.

The win puts the Cyclones just one win away from earning a berth into Hoopla. Making the Hoopla tournament is a goal the Cyclones set out for themselves at the start of the season.

The Cyclones will now face the fifth seeded Regina Luther at 3:15 pm Saturday at Central Collegiate.

The winner heads to Hoopla.
