Rumour of Emergency Closure Untrue

A rumour is just a rumour or at least that when it comes to the local Dr F Wigmore Hospital’s emergency department.

Rumours had been circulating in the community there has been closures in the emergency department due to a lack of doctors.

According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) there have been no temporary or other closures of emergency services at the local hospital.

“SHA can confirm that there have been no service disruptions or closures at the Dr. F. Wigmore Regional Hospital emergency department,” the SHA said in a written statement.

Presently the SHA is providing updates on service disruptions twice daily, at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., seven days a week. All service disruptions, regardless of their length, are being posted publicly on the SHA service disruption web page.
